Five members of the project team had successfully participated in the 28. SETAC congress in Rome from May 13-17 2018 with four presentations : one oral presentations and three posters. Research conducted within the DEFENSoil project and the “Students in science” programme had been presented.
In the work “Combination effects of chlorpyriphos and ZnO on oxidative stress and reproduction of the earthworm Dendrobaena veneta” the effects of pesticide and zinc oxide (bulk and nano form) mixtures was investigated on the level of biomarkers and reproductive activity of earthworm Dendrobaena veneta. The results of the conducted research involving the first and second generations of earthworm exposed to the mixtures were presented within an oral presentation. The poster “Single and combined effects of propiconazole and ZnO (bulk and nano form) on various biomarkers and reproduction in Enchytraeus albidus” included the results and conclusions made within the research of our graduate student, Nikola Čurčić.

Our students, Marija Kovačević and Tamara Đerđ presented the results of their research conducted with the help of and under the supervision of the DEFENSoil project team members, with the poster presentations “TBARS in horse hair as an indicator of oil industry pollution” and “Assessing toxicity to Daphnia magna using movement parameters”, respectively.
